ABOUT

Jackman Maine's blog is brought to you by Tami and Steve at Cozy Cove Cabins. Our goal is to bring you all the latest tidbits and happening not only here at Cozy Cove but around the region. We will provide with the actual weather as we see it, fishing conditions or at least what our guests say they are catching, moose sightings, trail conditions, and simply, anything we want to pass on to you. Topics could be just about anything but we will try to maintain within the listed categories.

This is also where we will post any BLOG SPECIALS for our cabins. We will list them under the Cozy Cove Cabins Category. All of our discounts follow the same guidelines:
* A 2 night minimum stay
* Payment must be made by cash or check
* Not applicable with any other web or cabin discount
* You must mention that "you saw it on the blog" when you first call for the reservation

SO thank you for stopping in and welcome to our Jackman Maine Blog. We hope you enjoy keeping up to date with us and please, feel free to add a comment, offer more details, or provide information for the author or other our readers. Many children also enjoy this blog so please, keep it clean!

Tuckaway Shore-Last Entry

July 04, 2007 | 1 comments

This will be my final entry for Tuckaway Shores Cabins since it has been almost a year now that it has been closed and the signs were taken down by the new owners. It is time to let it all go.

Since I first posted an entry about the property in June, much has happened. All but 2 cabins have been removed, all of the debris has been cleaned up, the land has been cleared, much of the insides of the house have been salvaged for use elsewhere, and half of the house had fallen.

Yesterday, the rest of the house came down. When you see the pictures below, you will see the last of Tuckaway Shores, the last of this storyand the last of it all happened in about 12 hours.

Below are the shots of the house, the clean up and now all that is left is the foundation.

I felt a little sad when the log part of the home came down only because Tuckaway Shores was a part of Jackman history and the house...well you can almost imagine the labor that went into the building of that log house. I believe it had very little ""R"" value left but the inside was a charming log cabin with a beautiful stone fireplace and I'll bet, if walls could talk would have many a story to tell

I am sure the new owners appreciate the history behind these log camps and home, but I also know they are also more excited and ready to make this their home.

We wish them the best of luck with this project and are looking forward to having them as neighbors

COMMENTS

Hi, Maybe you can help me, I am trying to locate and make reservations for the summer of 2010 at cabins I stayed at years ago. I was first there with my Dad in the summer 1962? and I know it was known as Wards I went back some years later twice with somes friends from college at that time it was a owned by Bill Fitzgerald, the last time I was there was with my pregenant wife August of 1979, now I want to come back for a week with my two sons age 16 and 20 and there uncle. I loved the Jackman area and I have has some great memories from each of my visits. I am wondering Tuckaway Shores was where I stayed? Or was it Cozy Cove.

Thanks
