Just a relaxing afternoon "sitting on the dock" at Cozy Cove Cabins

A few of our guests got together again and made a float for the Jackman 4th of July parade. Our theme was "Proud to be Polish-American". We decorated a van with red/white/blue plus some red/white, polish eagle and the American flag:

Finally, the lake water receded and soon, our dock will be out. The firepit is no longer under water, the lawn is drying out, and the horseshoes are in place. So yes, summer can now begin

Just a reminder....In honor of our old gal Murphy, we are going to continue our June as a "Happy Birthday Dog month" for all the dogs that may stay with us. We will waive the pup fee and your pup will get a little gift from us.

I wonder if the water level will go down so that we can put the dock out so that Kevin can fish off the dock this summer: This image was taken last August.

We have had so much rain this past week but today, it is 75, the skies are clear and the sun is shining. WHAHOO As you can see though, the lake is till really high. I am glad I did not put our little solar lights

As you can see, the lake is still quite high but the paddle boats and canoes are out and ready for our weekend guests. This is the beginning of a great summer!

What a day it is going to be

Perhaps because of the heat lately, the moose and other wildlife are definitely out in plain view and playing. Wanda and Dave saw quite a few during their stay this week. Here is one of them.

The fish monger from North Country Seafood was in town today. During the summer months and usually through October, she comes into town every Friday with a truck of fresh lobster, scallops and other fish. Keep that in mind when planning your holiday at Cozy Cove Cabins. See you soon

There is always some kind of breeze on Big Wood, so I am not sure why it is not very common to see sailboats on the lake here.

Mark and Laurie have been coming to Jackman in the winter to snowmobile. This year, they chose to try a summer trip and had a great time. Besides enjoying the 4th with us, they played on their jet skis and rented ATVs to explore the region when it was green

Kevin, owner of Maxx's ATV Rentals in town, went out to explore the ATV trails last weekend to assess what needs to be done for the season. He said they are looking to be in great shape so far and if spring is not too wet, they should be

The Mullen group planned their 2nd annual luau at Cozy Cove Cabins last night. The decor included decorating the pine tree with lei's and a pineapple.



Each couple then sat in chairs in front of the tree to pose for a "cruise" type portrait. How silly we were

Lisa, Joe and their children spent their summer vacation here last week and one day, took a tour of the lake on a boat. What an incredible sight they saw.

As with all of Maine, the waters in Jackman have risen well beyond what has been seen in August in MANY years.

The other evening, around 6:30, we and our friends Mike and Diane went for a little boat ride on the lake. It was a bit choppy at first but at a slow pace, it was nice. The colors of the water, sky and shadows on the mountains was incredible.

Remember the good old fashioned 4th of July celebrations we had as kids? That's what it is like in Jackman this year. There were about 47 entries in the parade, including guests of Cozy Cove Cabins.

Last week, our friends (& repeat guests of Cozy Cove Cabins) asked me to join them on a scenic plane ride at sunset. I could not pass this up. This was my first tour of the region from the air and OH MY GOD was it incredible.

Sunday the 29th we had our 2nd annual pre 4th potluck picnic with our guests and a few friends. Of course, the weather was perfect for an afternoon cookout and evening campfire. Below is a shot of a few of us relaxing out of the sun. Good

What an incredible weekend to enjoy Father's Day in Jackman. It is about 80 degrees, a gentle breeze, the sun is shining and the skies are blue and best of all, no humidity We have a couple families here this weekend spending time with the Dad's including father/son

The spring fishing this year on big Wood Lake, from our guest reports, has been great. Most only Catch and release but are amazed at the number they are catching

Many of our guests have asked about renting a pontoon boat to cruise Bid Wood Lake. You now have that opportunity.
