ABOUT

Jackman Maine's blog is brought to you by Tami and Steve at Cozy Cove Cabins. Our goal is to bring you all the latest tidbits and happening not only here at Cozy Cove but around the region. We will provide with the actual weather as we see it, fishing conditions or at least what our guests say they are catching, moose sightings, trail conditions, and simply, anything we want to pass on to you. Topics could be just about anything but we will try to maintain within the listed categories.

This is also where we will post any BLOG SPECIALS for our cabins. We will list them under the Cozy Cove Cabins Category. All of our discounts follow the same guidelines:
* A 2 night minimum stay
* Payment must be made by cash or check
* Not applicable with any other web or cabin discount
* You must mention that "you saw it on the blog" when you first call for the reservation

SO thank you for stopping in and welcome to our Jackman Maine Blog. We hope you enjoy keeping up to date with us and please, feel free to add a comment, offer more details, or provide information for the author or other our readers. Many children also enjoy this blog so please, keep it clean!

Remember that all of the information we post on our blog is copy protected, but we are not opposed to sharing. If there is ever an image or a story you would like to use, please ask us about it.

If you want to know more about staying at Cozy Cove Cabins, come on over to our website and explore. We look forward to meeting you.

WI-FI Survey

January 07, 2009 | 10 comments

We are considering to offer wi-fi at our cabins. So we want you, our guests or potential guests, to decide if this is a necessary option to have.

First though, let us give our thoughts on this. The world today is so involved in the internet, computer games, laptops, cell phones...all a good thing in the fast paced world of life. Without the internet, there are many things I myself could not purchase... or do way up here where the closest major store is 72 miles away.

But we also think one of the charms of coming up to Jackman for a holiday or get away is the fact that you are getting away from it all...leaving the crowds behind...getting back to how life should be...etc. Most love this aspect of being here because they spend time with their children: Kids play games with the parents instead of looking at a computer all day; You get outside and hike or swim or sled and do not have to be bothered with emails all day long.

On the other hand, some business owners, especially, do need to check in on their businesses. We can understand that too. But consider, there is a place in town to be able to do that if necessary. Pop into Jackman Java, order a coffee or an ice cream and check your emails. It gives her business and you do what you need to do and still able to spend the time with friends and family.

Those are our thoughts.

The cost to have this available is not the issue or a problem. So if a majority of people reply and think this is a necessary amenity, we will be glad to make this available to our guests for 2009.

Thanks for your help on this.

NO WAY!! We feel that it would really take away the charm of doing nothing but enjoying relaxation!!!

WiFi – to be honest, I think you should not get WiFi. People can always go into town to get it when needed.

Wi-fi .....a must

A friend of ours in the area took an on line survey to this question. These are the results.

When making a reservation for vacation, do you look for free Wifi?

No - 58.76% (57) visitors answered
Sometimes - 15.46% (15) visitors answered
Most of the time - 10.31% (10) visitors answered
All the time - 15.46% (15) visitors answered

So, according to this survey, a big majority do not feel that Wifi availability is important when staying in our region. Interesting.

Tami;

I feel as if you really do not need to provide this service because as you stated there is the option to visit Jackman Java and check your e-mails for business or personal reasons. I brought my LT when we visited back in July, but only to play music and download pics from our camera. If you had Wifi, I may have been lured into checking my e-mails or surfing the net. Two things I certainly DO NOT need to do when vacationing at CCC. Instead, we enjoyed the trails, the lake, the Eagles nest, fishing, our cabin, and you, Steve,and Murphy!

LEEANNE-THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT. GOOD POINTS MADE. I THINK JACKMAN JAVA IS A DARLING PLACE TO POP IN AND DO WHATEVER SURFING IS NEEDED. AND IT GIVES HER BUSINESS. YOU AND ROB HAD SUCH A GREAT TIME WHEN YOU WERE HERE, ALWAYS FOUND SOMETHING TO DO, AND I BET YOU WOULD HAVE SPENT MORE TIME IN THE CABIN IF IT WAS AVAILABLE TO YOU. HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON!!

I am with you. I wish the cabins did not have TVs in them either. Even when we come up with our friends, leaving the kids with nanna, it is great to not have to think about email or phone calls. I do that all day at work all week. Then I go home and check my personal emails. We play cards and talk and it is just a part of why we like to come to Jackman. Totally getting away from it all.On the other hand, being able to google something we are debating on would be nice.but don't do it
looking forward to summer

Deanna, Thanks for your thoughts. Maybe having a computer accessible to guests here in the lobby for those google debates? Just another thought.
See you in June!

jackman is my favorite place in the world and i would be living there but my husband has always lived in maryland and does not want to move. a few years ago i spent a month with my cat in the gilbert next door to you.

i check your spot every day-really look forward to it-thank you so much. also watch your web cam and bishops every day. i feel that its very important that people spend good old fashioned quality time together on vacation.if needed a short walk or ride to java is an option.

THANKS KATHY FOR YOU COMMENT. TAMI
